Publication News for January 2009
I’m still trying to find the time to complete my post on Elliot O’Donnell and the Wolf-Clan of Langavat, but in the meantime I can slip in a quick post about publications.
My story Great Hand has been rejected by the Australian Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine. It made it through several rounds of reading but was rejected at the last phase. Apparently they liked it, but felt the characterisation wasn’t strong enough.
Well hey, what more could I have done with a giant hand as my main character? (just kidding). Anyway I might hit them with something else to see if I can get in there…
Bewildering Stories have accepted The Green Woman of Kittlerumpit for publication after already accepting The Cat Witch of Laggan, and I have a feeling they would probably accept other titles in the series too, as my work is very much in line with what they do. However they aren’t a ‘paid market’, which counts when going for book deals, so I think I’ll continue to seek other options for the next wee while before returning to them with a third offer.
