I have recently been looking into the reports of the werewolves of Lewis and while I may not have been able to find any trace of an Andrew Warren or even werewolf reports on Lewis. I did however uncover four lochs going by the name Langavat in the Hebrides, so at least there are plenty of settings to choose from.

As for the original report there is yet another version of the ghost werewolf on the kitchen table story going around this one was reported by Montague Summers in his book the Werewolf. This time the events are set in Merionethshire, Wales other than the location the tale could be twin of either the tales you mention.
